0TR5TP / TR5TP compatibility with the Dell Poweredge R940?

Hi,

Is the power cable with dell part number 0TR5TP / TR5TP compatible with the Dell Poweredge R940? I am having difficulty tracking down which cable is appropriate for the slot 20 or 29 on the motherboard

Hi, as I see you are already the aware difference between R940 and R940XA. Unfortunately, GPU is not supported on R940. I couldn't see any GPU for R940 refer link is https://dell.to/3MbE95u

You can check accelerator segment on comparison matrix  https://dell.to/3fT9b5O

Hello j_wi,

PN#TR5TP is not valid for the R940.

Can you let me know what you are working on and your goal?

Hi Charles,

Thanks for your message. I have a currently unused Nvidia Tesla P100 that I am hoping to take advantage of using this server. I am aware that there are no officially supported GPUs for this server but the power supply is sufficient for this device and am hoping to source the correct cable for the PCIe power connectors on the motherboard.

The cable for the R940XA is the mini 8 pin and there don't appear to be any of those on the R940. The 0TR5TP / TR5TP seemed like they were the most appropriate. Would there be any issues using those?

Thanks
