VM Direct Engine deployment /networking issues

Hello,

I habe got an issue with a VM Direct deployment. We have a two sites scenario. Site-A includes primary ESXi clusters. On this site PPDM virtual Appliance and vCenter server are running. There are two PPDM relevant networks configured on physical switches and vSphere environment. One of these networks is for Managment (VLAN111), second is for Backup (VLAN112) Data. VMware ESXi Standard is used on all hosts, so this setup uses a Virtual Standard Switch. Portgroup for Management on VSS is configured with VLAN111, Portgroup on Backup Data is designed for using virtual guest tagging (VLAN ID 4095). VM Direct Engine are configured to use Backup Data network for backup data and are configured for HotAdd mode. This design works pretty stable on Site-A. No issues here.

Now we are trying to implement PPDM on a newly installed site (Site-B). It as a similar configuration. On site B there is also a Management VLAN (VLAN211) and a dedicated Backup Data VLAN (VLAN212). No dedicated vCenter nor a dedicated PPDM virtual Appliance were installed. Everything on site-B should be managed by vCenter and PPDM that are installed on Site-A.

Now I am running into an issue during VM Direct Engine deployment. During deployment of VM direct engine PPDM wizard shows an alert that the selected network portgroup for backup data in ESXi in not supported. "The selected Preferred Network Portgroup is neither a VST (Virtual Switch Tagging) nor VGT (Virtual Guest Tagging) network. Deplyment supports only VST and VGT networks. Select another Preferred Network Portgroup to continue. To deploy without configuring a VLAN, deselct the PortGroup" The portgroup has exactly identical configuration to backup data portgroup on Site-A, except portgroup name. It is also configured with a VLAN ID 4095 for virtual guest tagging. Due to this issue I am not able to deploy VM Direct Engines on site-b to backup VMs.

Installed PPDM version is 19.12. vCenter server and ESXi hosts are running on vSphere 7.0U3

Do you have any ideas? Please assist.
