XR-11 800W AC Platinum PSU - Part Number?

Hi,

I have an XR-11 with a DC PSU but I need an AC one.

Does anyone know the part number for an 800W AC platinum PSU for this server?

The tech specs do not have the information, and I'm struggling to find a clearly compatible unit with the information I have.

Many thanks,

Jon

JDM33,

Would you please Private Message me the svc tag for the server in question, that way I can confirm the parts are compatible?

Thank you.

We show to have three part numbers for 800 watt, but they dont say if they are AC or DC.
There are 1100 watt that state DC, but those are the only ones that state DC.
800 watt part numbers:
1GX1T, C8T2P, MGPPC the vendor is the only stated difference in our parts tool.

Many thanks for your reply.

Can we be sure that these will fit the XR-11 chassis?

I'm completely new to Dell here - so I don't know whether Dell have standard PSUs which will fit all their rackable servers, or whether each model has specific parts.

Any further input you can share here would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon

Hi @jdm33,

I'm Joey from the enterprise social support. I've checked that the parts mentioned 1GX1T, C8T2P, MGPPC are suitable for XR 11. Well, some servers components share the same parts but the parts are not standardized for ALL servers. Take for example, PN# 1GX1T is compatible for R750, R650, R550 and R450 but not any of the 14G PowerEdge servers.

Hello,

do you have the part number for the DC supply which came with the server? I need it to answer to your question about the differences.

Thanks

Marco

Hi all,

Thanks for your ongoing help.

So I located a C8T2P, but unfortunately it doesn't fit because there's are some notches with different sizes, as illustrated in the picture below (top is the DC supply which came with the server; bottom is the C8T2P part I sourced).

It seems clear the parts are not meant to be compatible, but can anyone explain further what the notches indicate?

Hi Marco,

Thanks for your help.   I've attached a picture of the DC power supply.  From the top right region, it looks as though model is 'A1100D-S1'

This power supply (71TXD) has reverse airflow design to support Front
Accessed Configuration and is 1100W

The C8T2P is 800W and support rear Accessed Configuration. If your server have PSUs in the front of the chassis, C8T2P is not compatible with your server.

Thanks

Marco

Hi Marco,
Thanks for your input.   Can I ask if there is a part number for an AC power supply which would be compatible with my server?

Previously GX1T, C8T2P, MGPPC were all mentioned as compatible with the XR11.   Some of the differences are becoming clear!

For the configuration, I know that 800W is sufficient power.

Thanks,

Jon
