The Inlet Temp Sensor is not responding or is not working properly. on R540
Please advise to solve the problem (The Inlet Temp Sensor is not responding or is not working properly. The status of Sensor health is critical.) Note that the bios has been updated, idrac, the problem still exists.

Hello,
that's seems an hardware error related to the motheroard.
Can you put the server in a minimum to post situation?
One processor (CPU) in socket processor 1
One memory module (DIMM) in socket A1
One power supply unit
Right control panel and cable (for power button functionality)
PDB/PIB and cable
System board
Thanks

When enabled, only IDRAC is available. There is an error in the logs The Inlet Temp Sensor is not responding or is not working properly. The status of Sensor health is critical.

Sorry I don't get it. What you mean that BIOS is not available?
The BIOS is on the motherboard. Did you update it?
Thanks

Is there been a solution for this? My Poweredge T150 is having the same issue. The bios and idrac are on the latest version. Bios 1.5.1 and idrac 6.10.30.00

Zenithtwc,
With that issue I would start with doing a REBOOT iDrac, which you can find under Maintenance - Diagnostics in the gui, or by performing a racadm racreset from CLI.
If that doesn't work then I would suggest powering down the server, removing the power cables, holding the power button for 20 seconds to drain the flea power, then reinstall the power cables, wait 2 minutes and then power the server.
Let me know how it goes and if the issue is resolved with those steps.

Tim,
That is a possibility, do you happen to have another T150 we can test a known good control panel from? If not you may want to try reseating the connections and see if that helps.

Chris,
Unfortunately none of these steps fixed the issue. Is it possible I have a bad control panel? This is were the sensor is right?
Thank you,
Tim
