Looking for CPU cooler upgrade recommendations for a PowerEdge T20

Hello,

I have an old Dell PowerEdge T20 I had in the box for years, that I finally setup for the first time recently. I bought it directly from Dell back in 2016, but only set it up for the first time about a month ago.

Anyway, I was wondering if there are any 3rd party CPU coolers that can be easily installed onto the motherboard using the existing mounting holes? I'm planning to upgrade the CPU and the existing cooler isn't good enough.

TIA.

For anyone looking for a cooler replacement for their PowerEdge T20 mini server, the Thermaltake Gravity i2 is a perfect replacement for the Dell cooler. It even fits right onto the existing cooler mount.

To suppress the fan error messages, because you're using an aftermarket part, you need use a 5 Pin to 4 Pin Dedicated Fan Adapter Conversion Cable.

I'm running the latest BIOS version (A20) on the motherboard and just successfully installed an Intel i7-4790K CPU.

Hi,

Thanks for the solution post. It's great to share on your finding. If you were to let the public user know what cable conversion you're using, it would be great. Unfortunately the server is running on unsupported configurations, if you do have issues and manage to resolve them, please don't hesitate to share with us.
