AULA OR FAILOVER 1 FOR ORACLE RAC NATIVE MPIO ON LINUX

Hello,

The default seems to be AULA(4) even though I pick 1 for failover. What is the best choice for Oracle RAC disks on a VNX using Linux Native Multipathing?

Thanks!

if your OS supports ALUA i would definitely consider using it, as there are so many benefits

page 190 and 193, either is supported assuming these are not used for "boot from SAN"

Thank you Dynamox! No boot from SAN so we are safe. I have been using failover 1 because I read sometimes performance can suffer with AULA. I am finding those that the default failover mode for the VNX is 4. I was just wondering if you had an opinion or preference.

Thank you Dynamox, yes it does and since I am migrating to new storage, now might be the time to implement. AULA.
