Optiplex 5050, corrupted BIOS, giving me the 2, 3 amber blink power button light.

Updated the BIOS from 1.28 to 1.30 and after I restarted my system it wouldnt turn on again and gave me 2,3 amber blinking lights.

Error code 2, 3 indicates bad motherboard, memory, or processor.  See the diagnostic indicator table here  https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000126021/a-reference-guide-to-the-dell-optiplex-diagnostic-indicators#2012_to_2020

You can not test processor or motherboard, therefore, just check your memory modules.  Reseat each module and swap out to test each DIMM to identify any faulty memory modules.

You can also run ePSA pre-boot diagnostic via F12.  While working on the system, give it a fresh new coin cell battery as a maintenance task.  Clearing CMOS using jumper after replacing the battery.  Refer to user manual for coin cell removal instructions.

Re:Updated the BIOS from 1.28 to 1.30

try Dell bios recovery.  your report is consistent with a corrupted bios update.  no guarantee this would work

Opti 5050 has kaby lake chipset.

If your Dell computer shipped before December 2015 and is listed below, then it supports BIOS Recovery 1.
OptiPlex 3040
OptiPlex 3240
OptiPlex 5040
OptiPlex 7040
OptiPlex 7440
Any Dell computer that is shipped after December 2015 that has the Intel SkyLake chipset, supports BIOS Recovery 2.
Any Dell computer that is shipped after August 2016 or with the Intel Kaby Lake chipset, supports BIOS Recovery 3.
