dell 19" LCD monitor stand adjustable button stuck
I got three stands that have the button stuck. can not raise the monitor. not sure if there is a fix.

I used a heavy plumber wrench to give the button several whacks and lobehold it sprung loose and the square plate shot to top position. Now it is movable but would not stay in middle range, so either all the way top or stuck at lowest position, which is better than before. Button was loose when sq plate is at top, but stuck again if plate pushed down to lowest level. It is like spring loaded and cocked at bottom level. Guess it is degenerative. Still has life left.

WD-40 or similar spray oil? That would be my first try.
Also, up until a few years ago, Dell's monitor stands are quite universal. You might be able to get stands that are a little newer off of eBay (or other site) that are without the button. Just make sure the stand is for a 19" or 20" monitor. My P2219 monitor has a bigger square in the back.
If you do get stand(s) that are a little newer, so the square part of the stand that hooks into the monitor might not match in color.
