Help installing RAID Driver for PowerEdge 840 Perc 5

Can anyone help me?

I had a factory installed Server with 4 HD Raid 5, 2 HD failed, so I decided to install a RAID 1 WITH 2 HD 1Terra each.  I created the Raid 1, initialized and it worked fine.  When I got to the Windows 2003 installation, original CD's that came with the computer, it doesn't find my Storage space.  I believe it's a driver issue.

I downloaded the driver  DRVR_WIN_R153206.exe from www.support.dell.com, and it is 5MB on size, unfortunately during installation, when I press F6 to install the driver, it only allows me to install from a diskette 1.44Mb, and it looks for a txtsetup.oem file...  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Hi,

If you extract the exe the txtsetup.oem file should be in there. 2003 does require a floppy or you have to slipstream the drivers onto a disc. The other option is to install Vmware and run 2003 in a virtual machine.

Hello Josh,

Thank you for your response, I have a box of 3.5 disks, so that would not be a problem.  I do have an issue with extracting the files, this file is self extract or should I say self extract when installing, I do not have a 2003 computer, I tried installing in windows 10 and it didn't allow me.

Any Ideas how to extract?  and will it fit in the 1.44Mb diskquette?

Thank you!
