WL7022 with BT100 - default sound options for PC not re-enabled when headset turned off

Apologies if this is the wrong location to post this query, but I can't find anywhere better - arguably, as a BlueTooth headset, perhaps this is the best place.

My issue is that, unlike any other sound peripheral I have owned, when I switch off the WL7022 headset, my default laptop sound options for speaker/microphone do not 're-activate'. Is there a setting somewhere to enable this?

I would raise a Tech Support Call, but I cannot for the life of me find a Service Tag on the headset

If your default laptop sound options for speaker/microphone do not reactivate after switching off your WL7022 headset, there are a few things you can try:

  1. Set the default playback and recording devices: Make sure that your laptop's default playback and recording devices are set to the built-in speakers and microphone. To do this, right-click on the volume icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings". Under the "Output" and "Input" sections, select the built-in speakers and microphone as the default devices.

  2. Disable exclusive mode: Sometimes, certain applications may take exclusive control of your audio devices, preventing them from switching back to the default devices when the headset is disconnected. You can try disabling exclusive mode by going to the "Sound control panel" and selecting the "Properties" of your built-in speakers and microphone. Under the "Advanced" tab, uncheck the box for "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device".

  3. Update the audio drivers: Make sure that you have the latest audio drivers installed for your laptop. You can go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for your specific model.

  4. Check the headset settings: Some headsets may have their own settings that override the default settings of the computer. Check the manual or settings of your headset to see if there are any options that need to be adjusted.

If none of these steps work, you may need to contact the manufacturer's technical support for further assistance, even if you can't locate a Service Tag on the headset.
