Wired network - Moving from Dell Dock to U4919DW

I have just taken delivery of a Dell U4919DW. I used to use a Dell Dock WD19 and one of the benefits of that was that I could plug ethernet into it and get a wired network connection to my XPS via a single USB-C cable.

There is no Ethernet port on the XPS or the Monitor. Is my only option to get an Ethernet to Type-C adapter? Is there any way of feeding that Ethernet connection into the monitor and down the single USB-C cable

I don't want to plug another USB-C cable into laptop to be honest.
