turn my laptop to hotspot

Hi all,

I own a DELL Inspiron N5010 laptop.I use Reliance netconnect inorder to connect to the  internet.I don't have any external devices connected to my laptop other than the USB data card.I have a smart phone and a tablet for which I need a wifi connection inorder to access the apps.I think that N5010 has an inbuilt wireless adapter. Can I turn my laptop into a hotspot,so that I can access wifi @ home for my other gadgets.I even downloaded a driver from the Dell support (Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000 ) and also tried to set up a wireless connection using adhoc.I can see my connection listed in the system tray, but the connection says "WAITING FOR USERS".Please help me out.
