Intel wifi Ac-3165 Driver Causing Blue Screen

I have a Dell XPS 8920 with a Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3165.  The existing driver is 19.1.0.4. ( I don't know the driver number when I received the machine in beginning of May 2017 because as you read below, it was reset.)  When I installed Dell support new driver 19.20.0.6, I get a blue screen with message "Driver IRQL not less or equal"  "What Failed: Netwtw04.sys".  The PC then periodically starts up OK and other times I get the same blue screen again before starting up OK.  A dell support person reset my driver to 19.1.0.4 and no blue screen.  The intel website has latest driver as 19.60.0.  Why is the Dell driver giving me problems?  Should I upgrade to the Intel driver?  Thanks...bob

You  can install the intel driver if you are having issues with the Dell driver. Uninstall the dell driver and  reboot the computer. You can then install the intel drivers.

I got my 8920 3 days ago and it blue screened many times with the exact same error as you described above with Netwtw04.sys. I noticed it happened whenever my wireless connection switched to a different SSID or when I was accessing a web page.

I installed the latest Intel 3165 driver from the Intel (not Dell) website this morning (28 Mar 2017, v19.51.04) this morning and no blue screens since then. Hopefully this fixes it. I'll let you know if it comes back. I'll be curious to know if it fixes it for you too.

Good luck!

Apologies for not posting sooner.  I installed the Intel drivers right after I posted my message on May 30 and it solved the blue screen problem.  Then just as a check, I created a System Restore Point, installed the Dell Driver, and the blue screen reappeared.  So it is the Dell driver..  Thanks...

Version: 19.60.0.7 ,A08

released in 11th July 2017.
