U2413 Dual, Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution, 2nd display treated as generic, not a bug

I have two U2413 and the newest version 1.5.3 Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution.

The second display(big 2 on it with win identify displays) is not treated by the software above as a U2413 with hardware LUT calibration capabilities. The option for the colour spaces "Abode RGB, SRGB REC709.." are not displayed and the option for saving in Calibration 1 or 2 is not given during the calibration process.

However, if I just turn off the first display and start the calibration software again, then the second display is magically treated as it should be, with the colour spaces option and options for saving in Calibration 1 or 2.

Can anyone confirm this as a bug?

One test I will do in the next 12 hours is to connect the displays to different USB 3 Ports -  first to USB 3 on the host controller from the motherboard chipset and second to the USB 3 ports on the host controller from the motherboard manufacturer. Might be an enumeration bug if the the displays are on the same USB host controller.

ALL_Christems,

This might be related to the “Multi-display widget”, which shows the displays under, "Select your display". One drawback of this widget is that it is really like a set of radio buttons, but there is no visual indication of which one is pressed/selected/active. Make sure you click the button
that corresponds to the display you want to calibrate. This should make sure the GUI is initialized to the display you want. When you click the button, the GUI window should position itself to be visible on the display you selected.

Hi Chris,

That does not help. The application jumps to the correct screen when pressing the radio buttons, but still does not treat the monitor as an U2413.

Display1 OK

Display 2 No aRGB sRGB ... or custom primaries. The screen after this says selected calibration matrix is CCFL!!!

We are working on the fix. Expect a new release in a few weeks time. You should be able to calibrate them as single monitor setups. Once calibrated, put them both back on as dual screen configuration.

Thanks, that is great news.  Looking forward to testing the new version.

Where can I find this radio buttons?
I have two Dell monitors connected and I can only calibrate the 1st one, the Calibration software always starts at the 1st monitor. So where can I select the one to calibrate?

Expect a new release in a few weeks time

Nearly 4 Months later I am still patiently waiting for the new version of Dell Ultrasharp Calibration Solution with bug fix for two Ultrasharps connected.

Any word on a release date? Is it still on the way?

So someone else has noticed this problem?? I have been trying to calibrate a dual screen set-up and was wondering why I couldn't see the same options on both screens? So the trick is to cal each monitor as a single then after cal set-up as dual screen and remember to use the correct ICC profile with it's corresponding monitor once back in dual screen mode? Is this correct?

Maybe September.

Bump @ DELL-Chris M "Any word on a release date? Is it still on the way?"

@ Paul yes that is how you do it. But if you are using display port chaining with short cables then it is a royal pain in the backside. I have to undo all my cable management pull out the desk to calibrate.

If that is true... please let Xrite/Dell DEV team know the issues about grey gradient neutrality and the missing L* gamma option.

...And why not to have the possibility of managing "Uniformity Compensation" as describe in the owner manual of the U2413.

The last ones have this possibility...

Update - My apologies for misleading you. X-rite has confirmed that this is not a bug to be corrected. The DUCCS (Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution) software is working as designed. In a dual or more monitor configuration, you must only have one monitor connected to the PC at a time when calibrating. Calibrate that monitor. Then disconnect it and connect the second monitor. Calibrate it.
