P2720DC, no USB Type-C signal from your device

I purchased a new Dell P2720DC direct from Dell and has been working for a week on my Dell Latitude 7480. Last night I installed DDM (Dell Display Manager) and everything was working fine. But today my monitor is no longer connecting to my laptop and is telling me that there is no USB TYpe-C signal from my device. This issue is also the same for my HP Spectre 360 15"; however, on my friends Lenovo and Samsung phone the monitor is working just fine. I CANNOT do a factory reset on my monitor or change any settings on it right now because I need to be connected to a device in order to access my monitor menu.

My attempts at a fix:

1. In my display settings as well as my graphics card setting it does not detect my monitor when I try to select the detect external monitor option.

2. Went to windows display manager and checked all of my USB connections and can confirm that all are functioning and that no driver changes were made to any of my USB ports.

3. Installing and reinstall DDM does not work and keeps giving me the error that the program requires a supported Dell monitor. I did not download any drivers prior to this.

4. Connecting my monitor to my friends Lenovo/Samsung so that I can access the Menu OSD to do a factory reset.

Go HERE and enter the private P2720DC Service Tag to check the warranty status.

* Turn the P2720DC and laptop off
* Disconnect every cable (including power) and USB device from the P2720DC
* Press and hold the P2720DC power button for 8 seconds

* Plug the AC power adapter into the laptop
* Open the lid and turn the laptop on

* Reconnect the power cable to the P2720DC
* Reconnect the P2720DC USB-C to USB-C cable to the laptop USB-C port
* Connect the other end of P2720DC USB-C to USB-C cable to the P2720DC USB-C port
* Turn the P2720DC on
* On the laptop keyboard, look for and press hotkey Fn+F8 or Fn+Switch display devices

If still not working, test any other USB-C ports on the Laptop.

I solved the same problem after two month use with U2422HE by following your instruction. Thank you so much.
