U2723QE, dual daisy chained from Surface Laptop 3
Recently purchased 2two U2723QE monitors to use with my Surface Laptop 3 (i7 16GB model) running Windows 11 Home. Intel Iris Plus graphics. This has DP 1.4 so technically this should support dual 4k monitors at 60Hz.
I connected them in daisy chain per page 42 of the User Manual: "Connecting the Monitor for USB-C Multi-Stream Transport (MST) Function"
Both displays connect via the USB-C port on my laptop, and I can extend the desktop to both displays.
However, I can't get both to display at 4K 60Hz.
I can do both displays at 4K 3840x2160, one 60Hz, one 29.98Hz.
Or I can do one display at 4K 3840x2160 and one at 2560x1440, both at 60Hz.
But I can't work out how to get both running 3840x2160 @60Hz.
Running the lower resolution is blurry, and running at 30Hz makes the mouse laggy on that monitor. So need to understand how to get them both on 4k@60Hz.
Can someone please advise?

Thanks, was really wanting to avoid the additional dock in the chain as these monitors essentially have a dock built in.
If there is a setting, firmware issue or driver issue that I need to update somewhere, I'd love to know, because the documentation indicates this configuration should be supported... Unless I am missing something 🤔

If you have any USB devices connected to the monitor, is it worth disconnecting them and trying again.
USB3 devices should be avoided

Thanks. I have tried without any usb devices connected to the monitor, just the usb c cable to the first monitor and then the dp cable to the second monitor.
Didn't make any difference.
I was however able to test with a newer Dynabook laptop, and that had no problems doing both monitors daisy chained 4k@60hz + USB3 devices.
It must be a (frustrating) limitation of the Surface Laptop 3 USB-C port or drivers.
