Docking Station with 2 Monitors (1 VGA to VGA, 1 VGA to DVI-D)

Hi, so I am totally new to this, I have a dell eport plus docking station, and 2 Dell VGA monitors.

The docking station has one VGA port and 2 DVI-d ports.

So i bought a small DVI-d male to VGA female adapter (amazon.co.uk/DVI-D-male-female-ADAPTER-CONVERTOR/dp/B005FWTDLK) to be able to link both monitors to the docking station.

The VGA to VGA monitor works fine, the VGA to DVI-d monitor does not. Just isnt detected. When i try to connect the VGA to DVI-d monitor to the docking station on its own, still nothing. Am i missing something?

Any help would be much appreciated! :)

What specific Dell monitor models?

Test both monitors using that DVI-D male to VGA female adapter. Do they both fail? (If yes, the monitors are most likely fine)

Test both monitors on another computer to verify the monitor DVI works. If it does, that means the culprit is either the dock or the adapter.
Computer video card DVI out --> DVI to DVI cable --> Monitor DVI in
