C2422HE, volume control

Purchased this monitor for the speakers/cam. What is driving me batty is that I cannot find anything to pin to the toolbar for volume control. You have to manually touch the front of the speaker, and THEN a volume slider pops up on the screen. Alternatively, you can reach around for the 'joystick'. I see in the manual that the Display Manager has Audio settings but that does not show up in my installation. Please, I beg you for a simple mouse operated slider bar.
