Smbios not working in Ubuntu

Inspiron 5415

Inspiron 5415

I have a dual boot Inspiron 5415 with windows and Ubuntu. I can adjust bios charging mode in windows using dell power manager, but I get errors from ubuntu using libsmbios. Eg, using sudo smbios-battery-ctl --get-charging-cfg i get:
`__main__.RunTimeBatteryErr: Multiple charging modes enabled: primarily_ac and adaptive enabled at the same time`

modprobe dell-smbios-wmi returns not found. I can't figure out how to add it if that's the problem. I tried playing around with changing the different security settings in bios but nothing worked. Any help would be appreciated. I'm running 20.04 5.15.0-48-generic. I've used this on another older Inspiron laptop I put Ubuntu on with no issue.

Edit grub as follows:

sudo gedit /etc/default/grub
Replace the following line:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
with

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash loglevel=3 vga=current pcie_aspm=off"
then SAVE & EXIT

sudo update-grub
sudo reboot
** Enjoy this could stop the flood messages.**
