G5 5000, running really slow

I have a dell G5 desktop, running Ubuntu, about 2 months ago it started running really slow.... iostat wait time on the SSD increased, replaced thinking it was the SSD... same problem... updated all available firmware... no solution, have ordered a new workstation ... ran out of ideas...
