WL3024 Headset disables audio when flipping up mic, and receiving "mic off" audio alert

I just started using the WL3024 wireless headset, and have immediately noticed that when I first begin using it, it works fine. If I flip my mic down, "mic on" plays, and everything works as expected. If I then flip up my mic, "mic off", my headset audio then cuts out. From this point on, my audio only works if I flip my mic back down, "mic on". Turning the headset off and on again resolves the issue until I repeat the scenario above.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, and is there a solution that can be implemented?

Also just tested this with the mic on/off button. Same scenario. Audio turns on/off with the mic.

99% sure this is because Windows Audio is switching from Headphones output to 'Headset' when the mic is activated or vice-versa when deactivated. I've always had to reload the video/audio or just rewind the media to get it to output again when it switches at least bluetooth audio outputs. Don't know if there's a way to resolve it for seemless playback but I've always worked around it by rewinding 5 seconds on YT and other media to get it to refresh and work again. If you open audio output settings by right clicking the speaker icon you'll see that it switches from headphones to heatset, two different devices and I can only remember having to move the media to get it to output again.
