Poor resolution on secondary monitor using MST

Our shop has a mixed fleet of Latitude laptops, ranging from 5300s to 5340s, with a smattering of 14" models thrown in. Most of our monitor setups are a combo of C2422HE conferencing monitors, connected to P2419H monitors using MST. We've had that setup for over 2 years, and everything works well, very few issues. We recently received 27" conferencing monitors (P2724DEB) and companion E2724HS to pair up. What we're seeing is the maximum resolution on the secondary monitor is only 1280x720 when using MST with the 5300/5310 laptops. The newer models will support 1920x1080. If we use docks (WD15 or 19) we can get full resolution on both monitors, and we can also get it by connecting the second monitor to the onboard HDMI, it's only MST that's the issue. All laptop are Win10 Enterprise, 22H2, fully patched, with up-to-date BIOS/Video/Thunderbolt drivers. I don't think it's a video resource issue, because even if we dial the 2724DEB down to 1600x900, we still can't get more resolution for the second monitor (max resolution for the DEB is 2560x1440). On our older 24" setups, all the laptops will drive both monitors to 1920x1080 using MST. I saw some suggestion elsewhere that setting the primary monitor to us exactly 60hz timing resolved a similar problem, but that didn't help in this instance. If anyone has suggestions that we've overlooked, I'd love to hear them, thank you!

After spending 1.5 hours on the phone with Dell support, they pretty much told me the older systems are "incompatible" with the new monitor. Not sure I buy that explanation, but it is what it is. But I did stumble across a setting that allows me to get 1920x1080 on both screens, which is a very acceptable viewing experience to my eyes. First, I had to set the primary conferencing monitor to 1920x1080, then I could set the timing to 60hz (not 59.79, or 60.11, EXACTLY 60). Once that setting was applied, additional resolutions were available for the secondary monitor, so 1920x1080 could be applied there as well. So unless there's a firmware update issued for the P27224DEB, it appears that 1920x1080 for both monitors via MST will be the best we can do.
