Issues with my dell latitude e7270

My battery got burned and I had to remove it, after removing it I plugged it to power directly using my adapter but it still won't come on, what could possibly be the problem? I thought it was the battery alone

If the battery showed evidence of burning, chances are high the mainboard was also damaged.

@ejn63 but I couldn't find any evidence of damage to tue motherboard via my eyes and nose, could it be the power circuit alone maybe?

If the system won't power up after a reset (with the battery removed and AC adapter disconnected, hold the power button for 30 sec), the board is likely damaged.   Whatever it is, it's either replace the board, or replace the system.

The value of the system is under $100, so any major repair makes little economic sense -- you can buy complete working systems that are newer than this one for about what, if not less than a mainboard alone would cost, and that's leaving the cost of a battery out of the calculation.
