Whichever the method that can provide sufficient power to operate the device, just use it. To be safe, be mindful to remove power while away or not in use to prevent accident as the device has sustained electrical damage.
Hi, Dell, My laptop model is dell latitude 3490 and I noticed that my laptop does not charge with the AC adapter original 65W and can detect Type C charging if plugged in thunder docker. After open and check the motherboard have black . is it possible i dont send to repairing and use adaptor type c charging
You may need to verify in Windows or in BIOS settings while plugged in to thunderbolt dock to confirm that your laptop could actually received charging voltages through USB-C.
The system is shipped with 4.5 mm barrel plug on power adapter. As far as the system specifications is indicated, Latitude 3490 does not have power delivery capability to use USB-C port for charging. See port descriptions below.
