I left my Latitude 5420 on and charged overnight now it wont turn on

So last night i accidentally left my laptop on while charging. I was able to get on it the next morning while yhe charger was still connected. As soon as it took the charger out the laptop shut off and wont turn on with or without the charger connected. I dont know what to do i checked online and they said to take out the battery for a overcharged laptop then hold the power button with the battery out then put the battery back in. I did that but it still wont work.
