Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 SSD

Latitude 7400 2-in-1

My brother has the Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 and needs to upgrade the 256GB SSD. Per the latitude-14-7400-2-in-1-laptop_service-manual_en-us and latitude-14-7400-2-in-1-laptop_Setup and specifications guide documents it seems to state that either the M.2 2230 or M.2 2280 will work. But looking at the images in the manual it seems that only the M.2 2230 will fit. Is this a correct statement?

Also the documents seem to state that the laptop will support a 1 TB SSD. Is this a correct statement?

Has anyone upgraded the SSD to a larger size? If yes did you encounter any issues and how did you resolve them?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

It will take M.2 2280 drive.  Will support over 1TB if you choose.  The Dell specs was with supported drives Dell had tested and validated for this system SKU.
