XPS 13 9360 FHD DCB

We really need a patch for disabling the DCB. Most of the other models have gotten it except the FHD version of the 9360.

BRAINYELLOW,

Can you explain what you are referring to when you mention the DCB?

Hello,

He means CABC (Content Adaptive Brightness Control)

And I'm fully agree with him : why on earth we still don't have a way to deactivate this feature?

Please provide a patch to deactivate CABC on ALL screens, including FHD version on our 9360.

For reference here is CABC patch for xps 9360 with QHD screen : why do Dell left FHD users with no solution???

This is a major issue on our XPS, for example I cannot calibrate my screen which means it is impossible to evaluate my DSLR Photos until I go back to home. So mobile productivity down to 0 level.

PS : I can see in Jessy's profile he is riding a Harley... tell me why now I'm fealing full of good hopes and vibes in the future regarding our request ? ;-)

Oops, I meant DBC - Dynamic Brightness Control, which is CABC - Content Adaptive Brightness Control, thanks @Judge584

There is a test here: http://tylerwatt12.com/dc/

It really gives me a headache when I switch from say my dark themed IDE / Text Editor to a bright page on Google Chrome because the brightness keeps adjusting from dim to bright and vice versa.

Same here, it is a good feature for battery but so bad when watching movies or photos.

I can't understand why Dell did provide a firmware fix for some QHD and FHD screens but not for others.

Please Dell... this is almost Christmas!

I would just like to know whether the fix is being worked on. If not, I plan on returning my laptop and buying something else.

Hi brainyellow, some people managed to disable CABC on their xps 9360 FHD.

WARNING: I do not recommend anyone to do it this way because this would void your Dell warranty

I'm posting this link for reference only, as it is a proof that FHD screen firmware on xps 9360 is flashable, which means Dell have no good reason to refuse to provide a patch as they did for QHD screens.

Please note I did not flash my FHD screen yet : I'm waiting Dell to answer our request.

I've spent hours trying to explain this issue to tech support in the past.

I'd really love for an official fix to come out now that it's been proven to be possible.
