Wireless network adapter not found

Hi,

I just purchased a Dell Inspiron N5110 with processor Intel core I7. I entered the service number of the laptop to get the drivers that I need to install.

I installed Windows 7 64 bit and the network driver recommended for it. When I go to the device manager, in the network adapters there is only Bluetooth that is mentioned, no wireless adapter. The wireless does not work. Could someone help me on this issue?

Thanks,

Timi

Thank you all for your help, I solved the issue by installing the driver Terry send by message:

www.dell.com/.../inspiron-15r-n5110

This driver was not present in the list of drivers when I entered the service tag, which is a bit weird, but glad that my laptop works now :).

Thanks again,

Timi

Welcome to the community.  Please shoot me a private message with the service tag of your notebook.  With that information I will be able to find out what wireless adapter shipped with your notebook and be able to point out the correct driver for you.

Hi Terry and Abhishek,

I would like to point out that I found the page with all the network drivers that fit my laptop specifics, and I installed first the exact one that matched my configuration. When it didn't work, I tried all other drivers, still the same result. When I go set up a network I also get the message Wireless Network Hardware Not Found.

Kind regards,

Timi

Hi N.Timea,

Thanks for the reply.

I would like you go into the device manager and check for other devices and also check if any network adapters are mentioned under other devices. If you do not see anything under other devices, go into BIOS by pressing F2 key on dell logo at startup and change the bios to the default settings. Also check if the network adapters are enabled in BIOS.

Once it is done try to reinstall the wireless driver once again.

Please reply in case of any further help.

Timi,

When you reinstalled the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.
