What kind of cable do I need?

I have an Inspiron 1100.  It has no ethernet connection.  What kind of cable do I need to connect to a hotel's high speed internet connection?

I think it does have the connector. As you are looking at the back of the machine, it is on the right side. You will need a regular 10/100 lan cable which can be had at any computer store, best buy, circuit city, radio shack, etc. Just ask them if you aren't sure.

It's known as a RJ-45 cable.

Actually, only the ends are called RJ-45. The cable itself is either Category 3 or Category 5 (CAT5) cable. The unit as a whole (CAT5 cable terminated with RJ45 ends in the TIA 568 fashion) is called a 100BaseT Ethernet cable.

Thanks guys- I'll pick up a CAT5 with RJ45 ends.  Thanks for the info!

They are better known in some places (such as Australia) as Crossover cables.

Make sure to get a cable w/ the least resistance. Usually, longer cables and thinner cables offer more resistance than shorter cables with a greater diameter~
