usb keyboard not recognized

hi,

 

I have a problem with  a half year old dell d620 (from work) running xp  which I like to connect to a usb cordless logitech dinovo keyboard. Problem is that the d620 does not recognize the usb receiver. also using a ps2 to usb converter using a ps2 keyboard fails. other computers i have at home including a HP slimline and toshiba laptop do not give any problems. What can be wrong with my d620 or its XP. It should have nothing to do with device drivers outside XP or bios i believe.

 

I already tried to re-install the keyboard driverin XPand loaded the latest bios but this has no effect
