The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined | even with battery or without battery

Hello,

I am using Vostro 1014 model. Whenever i restarted my system i am getting following error message in both cases with and without battery.

Warning

The AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined.
The battery may not charge.
The system will adjust the performance to match the power available.
Please connect a Dell 65W AC adapter or greater for best system performance.
To resolve this issue, try to reseat the power adapter.

And also i'm getting warning like "Consider replace your Battery".

I have tried with my friends charger which is working fine for his laptop, the same issue i'm getting. My battery health condition is "low".

Can both battery and Charger are needs to change? Or Battery change itself is enough? why i am getting even with other charger as well, correct me if i wrong, if in the case battery is not working, i would expect only "replacement warnings", but this Ac adapter messages won't be expected, right? Plz help me.

Thanks in advance.

If another adapter hasn't solved the problem, replace the power jack:

If that doesn't solve it, replace the mainboard.

If the AC adapter isn't recognized, the battery will not charge - either the jack or mainboard charge circuit is faulty.

I have an Inspiron showing the same message about the AC adapter and wattage cannot be determined, blah, blah, blah.

Where can I get a replacement power jack for an Inspiron 1545? Same website you specified above?

Thanks,

Jen
