Precision M4800: how to change keyboard backlight settings?

I have a Dell Precision M4800 laptop with windows 7 64bit. The backlight keyboard goes off if there is no activity for 10 seconds. I'm wondering if there is a way to change this so that it stays on even if there is no typing? (I have no option to change this in the Windows Mobility Center).

I figured out a way to make the keyboard backlighting stay on longer or never shut off. Just install the Dell Feature Enhancement Pack v2.2.1 A00 and afterward you will find in your control panel a couple of new entries called "Dell Keyboard Backlight Settings" and Dell Keyboard Hotkey Settings". When you click on either of these, they simply open the "Keyboard" Control Panel and you will note that the Keyboard Control Panel has two additional tabs named accordingly. Please note that you must have Microsoft .Net 4.0 or later installed. Special note: Even though DFEP v2.2.1 does not specifically state that it works with Windows 8.1 (it just mentions compatibility with Windows 8) it works just fine on my 8.1 Pro x64 M4800. You are given the ability to select keyboard backlight timeouts of Never, 5s, 15s, 30s, 1M and 5 minutes. Additionally it allows you to limit the keyboard backlight from lighting up unless an actual key is pressed rather than if the built in trackpad is touched. Here is a download link to DFEP v2.2.1 A00 and good luck!: http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverid=MHVWP

For other models there were apps like Dell Quickset and Dell Control Point, but there is none for newer Precision machines (incl. M4800)...

Is anyone able to advise on that? I'm also interested.

Derek ... I followed your recommendation by adding the dell enhancement and then found the tab you described.  The problem is that Dell seems to have confused "never" with zero.  So while my expectation is that selecting never would mean the backlighting never turns off, it actually means the backlighting never turns on.

If anyone else has found a way to keep the backlit keyboard on, please let me know.  Thanks!
