No hard drive detected

Dell Inspiron N5050 crashed and upon boot, I got this black screen.

Upon seeing this, without an idea what was wrong I went and did a diagnostics test. I did both a thorough and quick test and got this message showing that the hard drive didn't exist.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to fix this or do I need to replace the hard drive?

Thanks.

Unplug the system, remove the battery and disconnect and reconnect the hard drive.  If you can't see it thereafter, it's toast - you'll need a new one.

Service manual will show you how to replace the drive
