Hi ipratikgoyal,

Welcome to Dell community!

Is there a light glowing on the AC Adapter? If it does have a light that is glowing, does it stay on once you connect it to the laptop? Also, did you try connecting the AC Adapter to a different wall outlet?

Please try troubleshooting steps at the following link to isolate the issue: http://dell.to/11FQbEI

Do let me know the results.

Hi Kalyan,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the light is glowing on the the AC adapter when it is not connected to the laptop but the light turns off as it is connected. I have different wall outlet too but not success.

If the system is under warranty, call Dell with the exact error for a warranty repair.

If the system is out of warranty, try replacing the DC jack first:

If that doesn't solve the problem, then the mainboard will need to be replaced.

You've either a faulty power jack or faulty mainboard - what model system do you have?
