Laptop makes loud clicking noise when trying to boot
Dell Inspiron 3721 - 3 yrs old, running Windows 10 Started making loud clicking noise when trying to boot - sometimes it would boot, sometimes I had to try and restart a few times. It clicks about once per 1 or 2 seconds, then never starts up.

Thanks for writing to us.
Please run diagnostics from f12 menu and observe for any clicking noise during test.
The noise could be either from fan or from the HD.
You can remove the HD and try on another machine if possible or try another HD on this machine.
Also run the machine without the HD and observe if the noise stops.
Do keep us posted about the test results.
