Inspiron 7559 - Nvidia GPU no longer detected (Windows 10x64)

Hello,

Has anyone experienced this, and found any solution?

The Situation:

Updating to the latest mobile set of Nvidia drivers, my 960m GPU disappears from the device manager.

This happens when Windows 10 pushes a driver update, or when I myself attempt an update directly from Nvidia: the GPU disappears, and doesn't come back.

Rebooting, and attempting to install the drivers again yields a "hardware not detected prompt". It's as though the piece of hardware is literally gone.

This is definitely a software issue, as I did factory re-imaging of my system a few times, bringing it back to life (video card working). However, after any Nvidia driver update, the whole disaster happens again.

Drivers should be updated, but this state of affairs prevents me from doing so.

Can Dell please respond to this issue? Is there a solution, other than a factory reinstall which fixes the problem temporarily, until again new drivers are installed

I'd like to start enjoying my machine. So far it's been a struggle.

Thank you.

I've found an interesting article related to this problem. Looks like it's Windows 10. Has anyone found a reliable workaround?
