Horizontal Lines Across Laptop Display

Hello! A week ago I bought the Dell 7567 and since the first day I've had it, the display shows a couple of horizontal lines across the top of the display. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the internal hardware because I have an external monitor connected to the laptop which does not show the lines but maybe I'm mistaken. Is this an issue with the laptop's panel itself or drivers? How do I resolve this issue?

I would love to hear a response, thank you

I have an image to show the horizontal lines:

Hi AimeeFritz,

Thanks for posting.

It's possible the problem lies in the LCD itself but here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First, connect an external monitor to the laptop then press the Windows key + P at the same time then select Duplicate display and see if the same problem will persist on the external display.
- If you'll still see the horizontal lines on the external display that could mean the the problem is the GPU itself.
- Do a clean install of the graphics card driver that may solve the issue.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the graphics card driver.
- Next, open Programs and Features then uninstall anything related to the graphics card.
-Once that's done, download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer's site of the GPU.
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot and if the same problem persists, then I would suggest contacting Dell Tech support in your country for a repair if it's still under the factory warranty.
- Also, if the line does not appear on the external display, try to open the laptop and check the ribbon cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard. If it's still not working after reseating the ribbon cable, the last option would be to replace the LCD completely.
