Headset, Bluetooth

I have a Dell XPS 13 9343 and I have 2 problems.  1.  Audio plays through laptop speakers even though I have the headset plugged in.  How do I fix this?  2.  Bluetooth indicates that my Bluetooth speakers (Mini-Boombox) is paired but audio still plays through laptop speakers?
