External graphics card

I have a Dell vostro 1540. Can I use a external graphics card on my system for never gaming experience. .

To even have the potential to run an external graphics card, you need Thunderbolt 3, and even then it isn’t a guarantee. The only other ways are that some Alienware systems use a proprietary connector for this (which launched before Thunderbolt 3), and some people use a ribbon cable that connects to an internal M.2 slot for this purpose, but that requires your system to have a spare M.2 slot and you being ok with a ribbon cable poking out from under your system.
