Entire Keyboard LOCKED!!

I have a Dell Notebook Inspirion 2600 and I was typing on it last night and the entire keyboard has locked up. Even the indicator lights in the right hand corner will not come on. The mouse pad and right and left clicks work fine, but nothing on the keyboard.  Any suggestions???? Please help. I am using my daughter's computer right now.  Thanks in advance!!!

I have an Inspiron 1100 NB have same experience as yours though, after consult with Technical Support, seems the keyboard was not functioning, required to change. Hope this would answer your question though. Thank you.
