c400 Screen Resolution Upgrade Options
I was wondering if anyone has experience with upgrading the c400's 12.1" 1024 x 768 (xga) screen to the higher resolution 1400 x 1050 (sxga+)?
My system is with BIOS A11 and when looking at display options for the laptop, it appears that the 830M chipset supports resolutions all the way to 1600 x 1200. I wondered if it is possible to replace the original screen with a higher resolution one. If not, is the problem at the level of the BIOS or EDID of the screen?
My preference is to put a few hundred dollars in upgrades to extend the life of the system as opposed to purchasing a new one. Afterall, the system is very light, has a reasonable battery life which can be extended with removable battery cartridges, yet powerful enough for most computing applications. A higher resolution screen would certainly enhance the life span of this 8 year old system.
Thanks

I don't think the system was ever offered with higher resolution screens. You cannot use a screen not originally shipped with the system.
Also be VERY careful with these C-series models - if you do somehow change the screen, make sure you get EVERYTHING - screen, cable, plastics, etc. They're not interchangeable between screen models.
