AC Adapter=Unknown Device Installed???? XPS M1330
Okay I got my Dell in January 2009.
its a XPS M1330
I have installed the newer Bios to the A15 to try and solve the problem like it said to do on the support troubleshooting page for the Battery not Charging. And I went into the Bios and it said that the AC Adapter=Unknown Device installed. That batter and power cord is the ones it came with. Some reason I can't talk to a Tech about this saying my Warranty is up.
And now my Synaptic Touchpad Enhancements has stopped working also.
Can anyone help me with this please.

Your AC adaptor problem may be caused by two issues, the first, if the plug feels loose (which I can;'t see happening as it's a newer system) the DC jack may be losing contact with the board inside the laptop. The other possiblity is the AC adaptor may be defective. Try and find someone with a similar AC adaptor to test with.

The message means your laptop can't communicate with the AC adapter identification chip.
Assuming plug & jack are ok, it could be either the AC adapter or the motherboard charge circuitry.
Take the AC adapter to a similar DELL laptop and test if you get the same message.
If so replace it. If it works there the motherboard charge electronics is fried.
Assuming plug & jack are ok, read this:
