AC adapter/power supply

Okay...I have an Inspiron 1000...

For the past while now, it has been cutting to battery power. If i took out the plug from the back of the laptop, and plugged it in again, it usually worked fine.

This morning however, I noticed that the green light on the AC Adapter wasn't lit up. The plug it was plugged into was fine, i tried it with something else.

The battery power on my laptop is down to practically zero. So i can't start it up. (Im on my PC just now)

Just wondering if you have any ideas of how i could at least charge the battery...?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Martin.

Almost forgot... Before the battery power ran out, and the adapter light was on. The battery light was flashing on and off. It wasn't charging or anything.. just on.. and off.. on.. and off.. (I think you know where im going with this...)

i m having the exact same problem. my ac adapter is not lit up. so i assume that it is not working. i cant think of any reasons how it broke. maybe i plugged it in for the whole night. i dun think this is the reason. So anyone can help me with this? or i should send it back to Dell to repair, but it is going to take a long for Dell to repair it and send it back.
