AC Adapter Compatibility List
I have AC adapters from a variety of Dell laptops, mostly Latitude, and I can't determine what laptops they will work with. Some laptops state on the bottom to use XX-XX family adapter, some don't. The only info I can find on the Dell site references specific DP/N, not the adapter family. It's even more confusing now that the laptops come with different watt batteries and adapters as options. Is anyone aware of an AC adapter compatibility list?

The Dell PA-10 90-watt Power Supply is compatible with the Dell Inspiron 1501 Series, Dell Inspiron 6400 Series, Dell Inspiron E1501 Series, and Dell Inspiron E1505 Series laptop models or any model that needs 90W adaptor with the round plug with the tiny center pin.

The PA-XX is the base.
Your question has little to no information. One size does not fit all but there are 3 main types.
3 Pin , 2 Pin, and Round with Tiny Pin in the Center which is what most of the Recent Laptops use.
I never get less than 90W. My preference is the PA-15 for most of my laptops as this works with or without the battery and charges with the laptop ON or Off in a short time.

It wasn't meant to have a lot of information as I was looking for a reference list.
For example, where do I find out what laptops a PA-10 work with? I don't have any of the models you listed, yet I have a stack of PA-10 adapters.
I tried going to the replacement adapters on the accessories and upgrades part of the site. They have compatibility lists showing what models they work with. The problem is, they list mfg part number, dell part number, and UNSPSC, but not a family. None of their part numbers match what's printed on my adapters, so I need the family number.

No, not the type of master list you seek, though SpeedStep did provide a lot of information for you. I do not know of Dell selling any laptops without an adapter included, and once you have a laptop, you can search by the laptop model to purchase an appropriate adapter.
There is no need for what you are seeking - unless you are wanting to resell the adapters you have, in which case I hope you understand Dell (or most users here) would have no desire to help you.

No, not looking to resell. I inherited most of them when I signed on here. Most of the laptops are in the field and I rarely see them. I've got a pile of adapters that I don't know what laptops they are good for. They might even be from laptops we don't have any more. I don't know. Nobody thought to record what adapters came with what laptops, not to mention some laptops can use 3 or 4 adapters.

This thread is over four years old, but wanted to log in and say thanks. I've got a Vostro 1500 with a power supply from the PA-3 family. A couple of years ago I picked up an extra power adapter at work that is a PA-10. Even though it fit the plug, and charged the laptop, I always wondered if it was the "proper" adapter. Glad to see my Vostro 1500 on the list of compatible models for the PA-10!
