delete a folder via S3 within a bucket

Hi all,

We are starting to see the use case for S3 on our Isilon now so have started demoing the process. we are happy with how it performs however I cannot figure out via simple 'S3 Browser' application how to delete a user created 'subfolder'. I know folders dont technically exist in object storage, however we cannot find a way for the owner to delete them via S3. the only option is for another method (IT Admin CLI or probably via NFS/SMB).

Access ID user can delete bucket, create new buckets, rename a folder - new folder appears with all correct contents, however the 'old' folder stays and cannot be deleted by this user, chmod to 777 had no effect.

we are keen to lock down access so only this S3 user.

anyone else seen this particular issue?

9.4.0.4 is our version.

Hello, please check your Permissions of the parent Folder. Is there a "std_delete" or a "delete_child" if there is a "std_delete" you wont be able to delete Objects, after changing to "delete_child" it works if it is the same issue we have here.

i have a Support Case opened but the first answer i get is nonsense, it looks like a Bug we´ve had in 7.x with NFS but who knows.

Best regards,
