USB not appearing on boot list

I used to be able to boot from USB, but after trying so many options, the USB option does not appear at boot time (F12).

Followed the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhZWa3ajjDA , and it still didn't work.

Can't offer any specific method due to different BIOS has different boot features.  Most of Dell systems have feature to select bootable USB from F12, one time boot menu.

Your USB could be corrupted, test with a different bootable USB.

More than likely this is caused by UEFI only mode and Secure Boot.

-What are you trying to boot into from your USB?

- Do you have secure boot enabled?

- Do you have the option for UEFI only or enable CMS in BIOS setup? CMS allows non UEFI (older) boot devices but is also not as secure.

The USB will not appear if it does not have a UEFI bootloader and your machine is set to UEFI only or you have secure boot enabled and the OS you are loading isn't signed by a key stored on your machine.

If you have secure boot enabled, you can try temporarily disabling it and see if it appears in boot devices. Make sure to back up your data first if you go that route even though it shouldn't be an issue.
