My Dell G3 15 only been used for 1 and half year, and now suddenly the battery cant be charged, and keep flashing orange lights. The DelI system keep saying the battery is not operated and needed to be change. But I just use it only 1 and a half year, and its completely original , because i bought this from DELL. I have tried troubleshoot and diagnostic the issues and it said everything is passed, but the battery still not charging and keep blinking. Only can be charged when the device  turned off, and when I turn on , it starts blinking orange lights, and the battery is not low, it has 50% on it.  Hurry need to fic this issues \

Kind regards

Power off computer, remove battery, connect AC adapter, and then power on system again. Please observe any blinking lights.

If the blinking lights are still there, power off the system again, remove AC adapter. Press and hold down the power button for 20 seconds to drain any excess static power. Replace battery, connect adapter, and then power on system. Hopefully, there aren't any flashing lights.

It’s possible that the battery has reached the end of its lifespan.

Battery Report Check: Create a battery report to check the status of your current battery.

Open a Command Prompt window (search for “cmd” in the Start menu).

      1. Type the following command and press Enter: powercfg /batteryreport
      2. This will generate a battery report. Locate the report file (usually saved in your user folder) and open it.
      3. Compare the Design Capacity value with the Full Charge Capacity value. For a healthy battery, these values should be nearly the same.

Battery Replacement: If the tests indicate that your battery is not reaching its full capacity, consider replacing it.

Temporary fix/Workaround: Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop.

  2. Disconnect  the AC adapter and remove the battery or simply remove the base cover and disconnect the battery cable.

  3. Disconnect all devices such as USB drives, printers, webcams, and media cards (SD/xD).

  4. Press and hold the power button for 15 to 20 seconds to drain the residual power.

  5. Connect the AC adapter and battery.

  6. Turn on the computer.

Batteries today can fail after only 18-24 months. The new design for slimmer and lighter batteries is probably to blame. You can try removing the battery and using the adapter alone which makes the laptop a desktop replacement. That works on recent models which is good since genuine replacement batteries are often impossible to find. Lots of scams online with fake or used replacement batteries.

Unplug the system and disconnect the battery from the system board.  If the blinking amber light ceases, replace the battery with a new one.
