Inspiron 7306 2n1 pen not working at all -

hi - any ideas of how to get the pen to work... i don't think the computer even recognises it as being there. 

I tried to look for batteries but it looks like with this inspiron it charges from the laptop itself. 

i tried looking for it in the blue tooth menu but it does not show up there either.....
