Inspiron 17 5767 Laptop
Inspiron 17 5767
Hello,
My wife has a Dell Inspiron 17 5767 that she'd like to get about one more year out of before we splurge on a really nice newer one. It's doing ok, just running really slow. I've already cleaned out the fan and did a hard reset, it is a bit better, but I'd like to see what the best options to ramp up its performance a bit. Below is a screenshot I took of the system summary, looks like it has 8GB of RAM right now.
One question is, what is the maximum RAM this laptop can take? If it’s 32GB, would I need to change the chip out? Is 16GB enough? She is a counselor that does a lot of Zoom meetings one on one, a lot of email and some shopping. No gaming or heavy 4K video watching. Also, the battery is nearly pooped and hardly holds a charge, but she keeps it plugged in on A/C power all the time anyway so I doubt a new battery would do much good, would it? The laptop pretty much stays static on a desk.
Thanks for the input!

Add another 8gb to bring total memory to 16gb. Verify SSD to have at least 30% of free space, or upgrade to SSD if have not done do.
