Inspiron 15 5570, problem with audio devices?

Dell Inspiron 15 5570, warranty expired on October 6, 2019. I have a monitor connected via HDMI.

Issue:
Whenever I plug in or unplug my headphones or any audio devices, something goes whack and the Realtek audio driver keeps switching between the different audio devices. This is keeps going for several minutes which is very irritating.

How do I resolve this issue and what more information is needed?

Update 8/18 = If the monitor is disconnected from the laptop HDMI, then the audio issues stop. So how can I use the monitor and not have the audio issues?
